Elevating Careers: Insights from Career Building Session
In a significant boost to career development opportunities, Trillium Foundation organized a Free Career Building Session on May 12, 2024. Aimed at equipping participants with essential job market skills, the workshop proved especially advantageous for those new to Canada.
The session, running from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, was offered at no cost and attracted over 60 individuals eager to enhance their employability. The session was designed around three pivotal themes: crafting effective resumes, mastering job search techniques, and honing networking skills. Attendees were guided on optimizing resumes for Application Tracking Systems and developing strategies to navigate the competitive job market. Additionally, the workshop emphasized the importance of cultivating professional relationships as a gateway to potential career advancements.
Dr. Mukti Suvedi, Executive Director, enriched the event with an insightful presentation. Lilen Gurung, the founder president, underscored the critical role such workshops play in supporting newcomers’ integration into Canada’s workforce.
In the session Chunu KC, General Secretary, stressed the transformative power of mindfulness practices in enhancing focus, reducing stress, and fostering a harmonious work environment. KC explained incorporating mindfulness into our daily routines can lead to significant improvements in productivity and workplace dynamics.
