Passing the Torch: Celebrating Culture and Youth at Trillium Teej 2025

It was a joy to see our younger generation learning about our rich traditions and proudly embracing our culture at the Trillium Teej Festival. Watching the kids participate in the ramp walk — dressed beautifully in traditional outfits and carrying themselves with such confidence and grace — truly warmed our hearts. Beyond the ramp walk, many also performed songs, danced with enthusiasm, and volunteered to help make the event run smoothly. Their energy, creativity, and willingness to contribute reflected not only their talent but also their growing sense of community and pride in their heritage.

At Trillium Foundation, we believe that preserving our heritage goes hand in hand with inspiring the next generation to stay connected to their roots. Through celebrations like Teej, we strive to create meaningful experiences that nurture cultural pride and strengthen intergenerational bonds.

Moments like these remind us how powerful culture can be in bringing communities together — bridging generations, sparking conversations, and fostering belonging. Seeing families come together, children learning from elders, and the community celebrating in harmony reflects the very essence of our mission: unity through shared values and cultural empowerment.

We are so proud to be part of a celebration that honors tradition, unity, and pride — while planting the seeds of cultural appreciation for generations to come.
