MEDDIE MAYANJA (BOARD OF DIRECTOR)
Meddie Mayanja has worked in strategic policy research, program evaluations, international and community development for more than 20 years. Currently, Meddie is with the government of Ontario and is very involved in community initiatives that advance the causes of visible minorities across Canada. Before joining the Ontario public services, Meddie worked with UNESCO, World Bank, International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the government of Alberta.
Meddie has designed and conducted evaluations for learning and accountability for the National Agricultural Advisory Services in Uganda, the Canada’s IDRC, CODE and the government of Alberta in Canada. He has coordinated quasi-experimental research projects such the Pan-African telecentre evaluation (IDRC/UNESCO/ITU), including the quasi-experimental evaluation of school-based telecentres in Uganda. In addition, Meddie has designed and led information and communication for development projects in Asia, Africa, and Middle East, and is a thought leader on information communication for development in the regions. He was key in the design and implementation of Nakaseke telecentre and community radio in Uganda played a major role in creation of appropriate information communication technology-enabled applications and wrote extensively on opportunities and issues in emerging economies including networking telecentres in Africa and rethinking telecentre sustainability approaches.
Meddie is a Canadian of Ugandan descent and well travelled; enjoys learning about new cultures and places. He is passionate about soccer and is a licensed youth soccer coach. During the summer, he drives around the city motivating youth to play the beautiful game.
